Based on my research, Michael Jackson became famous because he had done nobody had done since what the beatles had done. He began his musical career at the age of 5, he and his brother Marlon joined the Jackson brothers as backup singers. They joined their brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Tito and Randy. At the age of 8, Michael and Jermaine began singing lead vocals. They changed their name to the Jackson 5 and recorded several songs. Michael Jackson emerged as the lead singer and main attraction of the group. They scored the top 40 hits. Michael Jackson is from a musical family and has been performing since he was 4 years old. He was the lead singer of the Jackson five, a group made by his brothers and sisters. By the time he was 10, the band had a record deal and their first four singles went to number one in the US charts. Jackson released "Thriller" in 1982, which became a smash hit that yielded seven top-ten singles. The album sold 21 million copies in the United States and at least 27 million worldwide. The next year, he unveiled his signature "moonwalk" dance move while performing "Billie Jean" during an NBC special.
